GLACIER COMPUTER RELEASES CORE 2 DUO VERSION OF RIDGELINE RUGGED TABLET

Amherst, NH – October 30, 2008

Glacier Computer, a leading designer, developer, and supplier of rugged industrial PC-compatible devices announce shipment of the Ridgeline industrial tablet computer with Core 2 Duo processor.

Glacier will be offering customers in the warehouse, freight, distribution, and field service markets the Ridgeline tablet along with battery charger, docking station, and accessories.

The Ridgeline is an all-in-one tablet computer commonly deployed into environments that are harsh due to extremes of temperature, vibration, shock, and moisture. Applications traditionally include service personnel, construction, utility, delivery vehicles, and forklifts. The Ridgeline is designed for work environments that mandate durability, sunlight readability, and Intel-based computing power.

“Adding the Core 2 Duo to our Ridgeline tablet expands the flexibility and application potential of our rugged tablet,” states Dan Poisson, Director of Engineering for Glacier Computer. “In addition to the increased horsepower, the Ridgeline boasts more memory, internal GPS, integrated GPRS, and a shock-mounted hard drive,” states Poisson. The Ridgeline tablet offers a 10.4” display, touchscreen, multiple I/O and vehicle docking station.
